वैशम्पायन उवाच
Though this line is a colophon rather than a teaching verse, it frames the episode’s ethical thrust: pilgrimage and encounters with the great are meant to refine character—especially by tempering raw power with humility, discipline, and reverence for dharma.
This is the chapter-ending colophon identifying the setting and episode: during Lomāśa’s narration of sacred travels in the forest exile, the story concerns entering Gandhamādana and the instructive dialogue between Hanumān and Bhīma.
