Bhīma’s Entry into Kubera’s Nalinī and the Taking of Saugandhika Lotuses (सौगन्धिकोत्पल-ग्रहणम्)
वैशम्पायन उवाच भीमसेनस्तु तद् वाक््यं श्रुत्वा तस्य महात्मन: । प्रत्युवाच हनूमन्तं प्रह्ष्टेनान्तरात्मना,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! महात्मा हनुमानजीका यह वचन सुनकर भीमसेनने हर्षोल्लासपूर्ण हृदयसे हनुमानजीको इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया--“वानरशिरोमणे! आपने मेरा यह सब कार्य कर दिया। आपका कल्याण हो। महाबाहो! अब आपसे मेरी इतनी ही कामना है कि आप मुझपर प्रसन्न रहिये--मुझपर आपकी कृपा बनी रहे
vaiśampāyana uvāca | bhīmasenas tu tad vākyaṃ śrutvā tasya mahātmanaḥ | pratyuvāca hanūmantaṃ prahṛṣṭenāntarātmanā ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing those words of that great-souled one, Bhīmasena replied to Hanūmān with an inward heart filled with joy—expressing gratitude for the help rendered and requesting only this: that Hanūmān remain pleased with him and continue to extend his grace.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic humility and gratitude: even a mighty warrior like Bhīma responds to a revered elder (Hanūmān) with joy, thankfulness, and a request for continued goodwill—showing that true strength is guided by reverence and grace.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Bhīma, after hearing Hanūmān’s words, replies with heartfelt delight. In context, Bhīma acknowledges Hanūmān’s assistance and seeks only Hanūmān’s continued favor and blessing.
