कौरव: सोमवंशीय: कुन्त्या गर्भेण धारित: । पाण्डवो वायुतनयो भीमसेन इति श्रुत:,मेरा परिचय इस प्रकार है--मैं चन्द्रवंशी क्षत्रिय हूँ। मेरा जन्म कुरुकुलमें हुआ है। माता कुन्तीने मुझे गर्भमें धारण किया था। मैं वायुपुत्र पाण्डव हूँ। मेरा नाम भीमसेन है

Transliteration

kauravaḥ somavaṁśīyaḥ kuntyā garbheṇa dhāritaḥ | pāṇḍavo vāyutanayo bhīmasena iti śrutaḥ ||

Translation

பீமசேனன் கூறினான்—நான் சோமவம்சத்துக் கௌரவன்; குந்தியின் கர்ப்பத்தில் தாங்கப்பட்டு பிறந்தவன். நான் பாண்டவனும்—வாயுவின் புதல்வனும்—‘பீமசேனன்’ எனப் புகழ்பெற்றவன்.
