Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
abhivādyātha sā kṛṣṇa tvayā madgacanād vibho | dhṛtarāṣṭraś ca kauravyo rājānaś ca vayodhikāḥ ||
The verse foregrounds dhārmic courtly conduct: respectful salutation, orderly departure, and deference to elders and senior kings—ethical restraint and propriety even amid political tension.
Yudhiṣṭhira reports to Kṛṣṇa that a certain lady/person, after paying respects to Kṛṣṇa, departed when Yudhiṣṭhira set out; he also notes Dhṛtarāṣṭra and other elder kings in the scene, indicating formal proceedings and the presence of senior authority figures.
