[दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठका ह “लोक मिलाकर कुल १७ ३ “लोक हैं।] नि हु मी अष्टचत्वारिशो< ध्याय: संजयका कौरवसभामें अर्जुनका संदेश सुनाना धृतराष्ट्र रवाच पृच्छामि त्वां संजय राजमध्ये किमब्रवीद् वाक्यमदीनसत्त्व: धनंजयस्तात युधां प्रणेता दुरात्मनां जीवितच्छिन्महात्मा,धृतराष्ट्रने कहा--संजय! मैं इन राजाओंके बीच तुमसे यह पूछ रहा हूँ कि अनेक युद्धोंके संचालक तथा दुरात्माओंके जीवनका नाश करनेवाले उदारह्ृदय महात्मा अर्जुनने हमारे लिये कौन-सा संदेश भेजा है?
sañjaya uvāca | dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca—pṛcchāmi tvāṃ sañjaya rājamadhye kim abravīd vākyam adīnasattvaḥ | dhanañjayas tāta yudhāṃ praṇetā durātmanāṃ jīvitacchin mahātmā ||
துரிதராஷ்டிரன் கூறினான்—சஞ்சயா, இவ்வரசர்களின் நடுவே நான் உன்னைக் கேட்கிறேன்: அஞ்சாத மனத்தையுடைய, போர்களின் தலைவன், தீயோரின் உயிரை அறுக்கும் மகாத்மா தனஞ்சயன் (அர்ஜுனன்) நமக்காக என்ன செய்தி உரைத்தான்?
