प्रियां भार्या द्रौपदी पाण्डवानां यशस्विनीं शीलवृत्तोपपन्नाम् | यदुपैक्षन्त कुरवो भीष्ममुख्या: कामानुगेनोपरुद्धां व्रजन्तीम्
vāyudeva uvāca |
priyāṃ bhāryāṃ draupadīṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ yaśasvinīṃ śīlavṛttopapannām |
yad-upekṣanta kuravo bhīṣmamukhyāḥ kāmānugenoparuddhāṃ vrajantīm ||
பாண்டவர்களின் அன்புத் துணைவி, புகழ்மிக்க திரௌபதி—நல்லொழுக்கமும் நற்பண்பும் நிறைந்தவள்—காமவெறியால் ஆட்கொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களால் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டு உதவியற்ற நிலையில் சபைக்குள் இழுத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டபோதும், பீஷ்மர் முதலான முதன்மை கௌரவர்கள் அவளைப் பாதுகாக்காமல் அலட்சியமாகவே பார்த்தனர்.
