Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
भीष्म उवाच तयो: संवदतोरेवं राजन् रामाम्बयोस्तदा । ऋषि: परमधर्मात्मा इदं वचनमत्रवीत्
bhīṣma uvāca | tayoḥ saṃvadator evaṃ rājan rāmāmbayoḥ tadā | ṛṣiḥ paramadharmātmā idaṃ vacanam abravīt |
பீஷ்மன் கூறினான்—அரசே! ராமன் (பரசுராமன்) மற்றும் அம்பா இவ்வாறு உரையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது, மிகுந்த தர்மநெறியுடைய அக்ருதவ்ரண முனிவர் இவ்வார்த்தைகளைச் சொன்னார்.
भीष्म उवाच
That intense personal disputes should be brought under the guidance of dharma: the entrance of a 'parama-dharmātmā' sage signals that righteous counsel is needed to steer emotion and pride toward a principled resolution.
Bhishma is recounting events to the king: as Parashurama and Amba are in conversation, the sage Akṛtavraṇa intervenes and begins to speak, marking a shift from private argument to authoritative moral guidance.
