भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्
Amba-ākhyāna prologue
एष चेदिपति: शूर: सह पुत्रेण भारत | महारथानां सुकरं महत् कर्म करिष्यति,भारत! यह शौर्यसम्पन्न चेदिराज अपने पुत्रके साथ आकर महारथियोंके लिये सहजसाध्य महान् पराक्रम कर दिखायेगा
eṣa cedipatiḥ śūraḥ saha putreṇa bhārata | mahārathānāṃ sukaraṃ mahat karma kariṣyati, bhārata ||
ஓ பாரதா! இந்த வீர சேதி மன்னன் தன் மகனுடன் வந்து, மகாரதர்களின் முன்னிலும் எளிதில் நிறைவேற்றத்தக்க ஒரு மகத்தான செயலைச் செய்து முடிப்பான்.
