Agni-hymn, discovery of Indra, and the Nahuṣa threat
राजा देवानां नहुषो घोररूप- स्तत्र साहां दीयतां मे भवद्धि: । ते चाब्रुवन् नहुषो घोररूपो दृष्टीविषस्तस्य बिभीम ईश
rājā devānāṃ nahuṣo ghorarūpas tatra sahāyāṃ dīyatāṃ me bhavadbhiḥ | te cābruvan nahuṣo ghorarūpo dṛṣṭiviṣas tasya bibhīma īśa ||
‘தேவர்களின் அரசன் நஹுஷன் பயங்கரமான உருவம் கொண்டுவிட்டான். அவனைச் சொர்க்கத்திலிருந்து அகற்றும் பணியில் நீங்கள் எனக்கு உதவி செய்யுங்கள்.’ இதைக் கேட்ட அவர்கள் கூறினர்—‘தேவேசுவரா! நஹுஷன் உண்மையிலேயே கொடிய உருவுடையவன்; அவன் பார்வையே விஷம் போன்றது. ஆகவே நாங்கள் அவனை அஞ்சுகிறோம்.’
