Educational Q&A

The verse highlights maryādā (propriety) and readiness: before entering serious public action, one composes oneself outwardly—through orderly dress and dignified bearing—reflecting inner discipline and respect for the occasion.

A group (implied by the plural verbs) is shown preparing formally: they secure their turbans, don lower and upper garments, and wear ornaments, indicating a transition into an official or consequential public setting within the Udyoga Parva’s atmosphere of impending action.
