ययातिपतन-कारणम् (The Cause of Yayāti’s Fall) — Nārada’s Counsel on Pride and Reconciliation
यत् फलं दानशीलस्य क्षमाशीलस्य यत् फलम् | यच्च मे फलमाधाने तेन संयुज्यतां भवान्,“दानशील पुरुषको जो पुण्यफल प्राप्त होता है, क्षमाशील मनुष्यको जो फल मिलता है तथा अग्निस्थापन आदि वेदोक्त कर्मोंके अनुष्ठानसे मुझे जिस फलकी प्राप्ति होनेवाली है, उन सभी प्रकारके पुण्यफलोंसे आप सम्पन्न हों!
yat phalaṁ dānaśīlasya kṣamāśīlasya yat phalam | yac ca me phalam ādhāne tena saṁyujyatāṁ bhavān ||
தானசீலனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் புண்ணியப் பயனும், பொறுமையுடையவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் பயனும், அக்ன்யாதானம் முதலான வேதவிதி கர்மங்களை நான் ஆற்றுவதால் எனக்குக் கிடைக்கவிருக்கும் பயனும்—அத்தனை புண்ணியப் பயன்களாலும் நீர் நிறைவுபெறுக।
