Haryaśva’s Agreement with Gālava and the Birth of Vasumanā
Nārada’s narration
इयं शुल्केन भार्यार्थ हर्यश्व प्रतिगृह्मताम् शुल्कं ते कीर्तयिष्यामि तच्छूत्वा सम्प्रधार्यताम्
iyaṁ śulkena bhāryārtha haryaśva pratigṛhṇatām | śulkaṁ te kīrtayiṣyāmi tac chrutvā sampradhāryatām ||
நாரதர் கூறினார்—“ஓ ஹர்யஶ்வா! இக்கன்னியை மணமகளாகப் பெற மணமூலியம் (சுல்கம்) செலுத்தி ஏற்றுக்கொள். முதலில் அந்தச் சுல்கம் என்னவென்று நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்; அதைச் செவிமடுத்து நன்கு ஆலோசித்து உனக்குத் தகுந்ததைத் தீர்மானி.”
