तेषां श्राद्धानि देयानि श्रुत्वा भारत भारतम् । ब्राह्मणेभ्यो यथाशक्त्या भक्त्या च भरतर्षभ
teṣāṃ śrāddhāni deyāni śrutvā bhārata bhāratam | brāhmaṇebhyo yathāśaktyā bhaktyā ca bharatarṣabha ||
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்—பரதவம்சத்தாரே! இந்த பாரதக் கதையைச் செவிமடுத்த பின், அவர்களுக்குச் சிராத்தம் செய்ய வேண்டும்; பரதசிரேஷ்டா! தன் ஆற்றலுக்கேற்ப பிராமணர்களுக்கு பக்தியுடன் தானம் அளிக்க வேண்டும்।
