ये त्वादानपरा एव वसन्ति भवतो गृहे । अभूतिकामा भूतानां तादृशैमेंडभिसंहितम्‌,जो लोग आपका खजाना लूट रहे हैं और आपके ही घरमें रहते हैं, वे प्रजाकी भलाई चाहनेवाले नहीं हैं। वैसे लोगोंने मेरे साथ वैर बाँध लिया है

ye tv ādānaparā eva vasanti bhavato gṛhe | abhūtikāmā bhūtānāṃ tādṛśair meḍabhisaṃhitam ||

பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுதலிலேயே ஆவலுற்று, உன் இல்லத்திலேயே தங்கி உன் கருவூலத்தை கொள்ளையிடுபவர்கள், மக்களின் நலனையும் செழிப்பையும் விரும்பார். அத்தகையோர் தங்கள் இயல்பும் நடத்தையும் காரணமாக என்னுடன் பகைமை கொண்டுள்ளனர்।
