युधिछिर उवाच नाहं राज्यसुखान्वेषी राज्यमिच्छाम्यपि क्षणम्‌ | धर्मार्थ रोचये राज्यं धर्मश्चात्र न विद्यते

Transliteration

Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: nāhaṃ rājyasukhānveṣī rājyam icchāmy api kṣaṇam | dharmārthaṃ rocaye rājyaṃ dharmaś cātra na vidyate ||

Translation

யுதிஷ்டிரன் கூறினான்—பிதாமஹா! அரசாட்சியின் இன்பங்களை நாடுபவன் நான் அல்ல; ஒரு கணமும் அரசை விரும்பவில்லை. தர்மத்திற்காகவே அரசை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள எண்ணினேன்; ஆனால் இங்கே தர்மமே இல்லை எனத் தோன்றுகிறது.
