Āśrama-dharma: Duties of the Four Life-Stages (आश्रमधर्मः)
दानमध्ययन यज्ञो राज्ञां क्षेमो विधीयते । तस्माद् राज्ञा विशेषेण योद्धव्यं धर्ममीप्सता
bhīṣma uvāca | dānam adhyayanaṁ yajño rājñāṁ kṣemo vidhīyate | tasmād rājñā viśeṣeṇa yoddhavyaṁ dharmam īpsatā |
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—தானம், வேதாத்யயனம், யாகம் ஆகியவை அரசர்களின் நலனுக்கென விதிக்கப்பட்டவை. ஆயினும் தர்மத்தை நாடும் அரசனுக்கு சிறப்பாகப் போரே கடமை; ஆகவே ஒழுங்கும் தர்மமும் காக்கத் தர்மநிஷ்ட அரசன் எப்போதும் போருக்கு ஆயத்தமாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.
