Śara-śayyā-sthita-bhīṣma-saṃvāda-prastāvaḥ
The Prelude to Questioning Bhīṣma on the Bed of Arrows
यावद्धि प्रथते लोके पुरुषस्य यशो भुवि । तावत् तस्याक्षयं स्थान भवतीति विनिश्चिता,जगत्में जबतक भूतलपर मनुष्यके यशका विस्तार होता रहता है, तबतक उसकी परलोकमें अचल स्थिति बनी रहती है, यह निश्चय है
yāvaddhi prathate loke puruṣasya yaśo bhuvi | tāvat tasya akṣayaṁ sthānaṁ bhavatīti viniścitā ||
வாயு கூறினார்—இந்த உலகில் பூமியில் ஒருவனின் புகழ் எத்தனை காலம் பரவிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறதோ, அத்தனை காலம் அவனுடைய மறுலோக நிலை அழியாததாக இருக்கும்—இது உறுதி.
