Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)

इत:ः सर्वेडपि गच्छाम: शरणं लोकसाक्षिणम्‌ । महापुरुषमव्यक्तं स नो वक्ष्यति यद्धितम्‌,हम सब लोग यहाँसे अव्यक्त लोकसाक्षी महापुरुष नारायणदेवकी शरणमें चलें। वे हमारे लिये हितकी बात बतायेंगे

itaḥ sarve ’pi gacchāmaḥ śaraṇaṁ lokasākṣiṇam | mahāpuruṣam avyaktam sa no vakṣyati yad dhitam ||

வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்—“வாருங்கள்; நாம் அனைவரும் இங்கிருந்து சென்று, அவ்யக்தனாகிய உலகங்களின் சாட்சியான மகாபுருஷன்—சனாதன நாராயணனின் சரணை அடைவோம். நமக்குப் பொருந்தும் உண்மையான நன்மையை அவர் கூறுவார்.”

Educational Q&A

When human judgment is uncertain, one should seek refuge in the supreme, impartial Witness (Nārāyaṇa) and receive guidance aimed at true welfare (hita), not merely immediate advantage.

Vaiśampāyana narrates a collective resolve: the group decides to leave their present situation and approach the Unmanifest Great Person, Nārāyaṇa, trusting that he will instruct them on what is beneficial and right.
