इति गुह्यसमुद्देशस्तव नारद कीर्तित: । भक्‍त्या प्रेम्णा च विप्रर्षे अस्मद्धक्त्या च ते श्रुतः,नारद! ब्रह्मर्ष! तुममें भगवानके प्रति भक्ति और प्रेम है। हमलोगोंके प्रति भी तुम्हारा भक्तिभाव बना हुआ है। इसलिये हमने तुम्हारे सामने इस गोपनीय विषयका वर्णन किया है और तुम्हें इसे सुननेका शुभ अवसर मिला है

Transliteration

iti guhyasamuddeśas tava nārada kīrtitaḥ | bhaktyā premṇā ca viprarṣe asmaddhaktyā ca te śrutaḥ ||

Translation

நாரதா, பிரம்மரிஷியே! இவ்வாறு இந்த ரகசிய உபதேசத்தின் சாரத்தை நான் உனக்குக் கூறினேன். உன் உள்ளத்தில் பகவான்மீது பக்தியும் பிரேமமும் உள்ளது; எங்கள்மீதும் உன் பக்திபாவம் நிலைத்திருக்கிறது. ஆகவே இந்த மறைபொருளை கேட்கும் நல்வாய்ப்பு உனக்குக் கிடைத்தது।
