Nārāyaṇasya Guhya-nāmāni Niruktāni (Etymologies of Nārāyaṇa’s Secret Epithets) / नारायणस्य गुह्यनामानि निरुक्तानि

सक्तस्य बुद्धिश्बलति मोहजालविवर्धनी । मोहजालावृतो दुःखमिह चामुत्र सो5श्लुते,विषयासक्त पुरुषकी बुद्धि चंचल होती है। वह मोहजालको बढ़ानेवाली है, मोहजालसे बँधा हुआ पुरुष इस लोक तथा परलोकमें दुःख ही भोगता है

saktasya buddhir balati mohajālavivardhanī | mohajālāvṛto duḥkham iha cāmutra so 'śnute ||

புலன்விஷயங்களில் பற்றுடையவனின் அறிவு நிலையற்றதாகிறது; அது மயக்கவலையை மேலும் பெருக்குகிறது. அந்த மயக்கவலையில் மூடப்பட்டு கட்டுண்டவன் இவ்வுலகிலும் மறுவுலகிலும் துன்பமே அனுபவிக்கிறான்.

Attachment to sense-objects destabilizes discernment (buddhi) and expands delusion (moha). A person trapped in this delusion inevitably reaps suffering both in present life and in the afterlife; therefore, restraint and detachment are essential for dharmic living.
