देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
बेटा! जीव अनेक प्रकारके शरीरोंमें जन्मता-मरता हुआ कभी इस मानव- योनिमें आकर ब्राह्मणका शरीर पाता है, अतः तुम ब्राह्मणोचित कर्तव्यका पालन करो ।।
vyāsa uvāca | brāhmaṇasya tu deho 'yaṃ na kāmārthāya jāyate | iha kleśāya tapase pretya tv anupamaṃ sukham ||
வியாசர் கூறினார்—மகனே! உயிர் பலவகை உடல்களில் பிறந்து இறந்து அலைந்து, அரிதாக மனித யோனியை அடைந்து பிராமண உடலைப் பெறுகிறது; ஆகவே பிராமணனுக்குரிய கடமைகளைப் பின்பற்று. பிராமணனின் இந்த உடல் காம-இன்பங்களை நாடுவதற்காகப் பிறப்பதில்லை; இங்கே தவத்திற்காகத் துன்பத்தைத் தாங்கவும், மரணத்திற்குப் பின் ஒப்பற்ற ஆனந்தத்தை அடையவும் இதுவே அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
