Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga
अथोक्तश्न महाराज राजा गन्धर्वसत्तम: । पृष्टवाननुपूर्वेण प्रश्नमर्थविदुत्तमम्
atho'ktaś ca mahārāja rājā gandharva-sattamaḥ | pṛṣṭavān anupūrveṇa praśnam artha-vid-uttamam ||
யாஜ்ஞவல்க்யர் கூறினார்— “மகாராஜா, இதைக் கேட்டபின் கந்தர்வர்களில் சிறந்த அரசன், பொருளறிந்தவனாய், வரிசையாகக் கேள்விகளை எழுப்பினான். அப்போது நான் அவனிடம்— ‘அரசே, நீ ஒன்றன்பின் ஒன்றாக உத்தமமான கேள்விகளை வைத்தாய்; அவற்றின் பொருளை நீ அறிந்தவன். சிறிது நேரம் காத்திரு; இக்கேள்விகளை நான் சிந்திக்கிறேன்’ என்றேன். ‘அப்படியே’ என்று சொல்லி கந்தர்வராஜன் மௌனமாக அமர்ந்தான்।”
