पर्वत उवाच भविष्यत्येष ते कामो न त्वायुष्मान् भविष्यति । देवराजाभि भूत्यर्थ संकल्पो होष ते हृदि,पर्वतने कहा--राजन्! तुम्हारा यह मनोरथ पूर्ण होगा, परंतु वह पुत्र दीर्घायु नहीं हो सकेगा; क्योंकि देवराज इन्द्रको पराजित करनेके लिये तुम्हारे हृदयमें यह संकल्प उठा है
parvata uvāca bhaviṣyaty eṣa te kāmo na tv āyuṣmān bhaviṣyati | devarājābhibhūty-arthaṃ saṅkalpo hoṣa te hṛdi ||
பர்வதர் கூறினார்— “அரசே! உன் ஆசை நிறைவேறும்; ஆனால் அந்த மகன் நீண்ட ஆயுளுடையவன் ஆகமாட்டான். ஏனெனில் தேவராஜன் இந்திரனை அடக்கவேண்டும் என்ற தீர்மானம் உன் உள்ளத்தில் எழுந்துள்ளது.”
