अभिगम्य च तत् तुष्ट्या दत्तमाहुरभिष्ठतम् । याचितेन तु यद् दत्तं तदाहुर्मध्यमं बुधा:
abhigamya ca tat tuṣṭyā dattam āhur abhiṣṭatam | yācitena tu yad dattaṃ tad āhur madhyamaṃ budhāḥ ||
பராசரர் கூறினார்—தானாகவே சென்று மனமகிழ்ச்சியுடன் அளிக்கப்படும் தானம் மிகச் சிறந்தது என்று சொல்லப்படுகிறது; ஆனால் கேட்டபின் அளிக்கப்படுவது அறிவாளர்களால் நடுத்தரத் தானம் எனக் கூறப்படுகிறது.
