Chapter 29
yaḥ sahasraṃ sahasrāṇāṃ gajānāṃ padmamālinām
The line uses epic hyperbole to frame extraordinary strength and heroic capacity; ethically, such praise in the Mahābhārata often serves to highlight the ideal of controlled power—might that should be aligned with dharma rather than mere domination.
Vāyudeva is speaking and begins (or continues) a laudatory description of a figure’s prowess, comparing him to someone capable of facing innumerable elephants decorated for display or ceremony.
