अध्याय २८१ — दानधर्मः, न्यायागतधनम्, ऋणत्रय-परिशोधनं च
Dāna ethics, lawful wealth, and settling obligations
क्षिप्रमेव महाकायं वृत्रं दैत्यमपातयत् । ततो नाद: समभवत् पुनरेव समन्ततः
kṣipram eva mahākāyaṃ vṛtraṃ daityam apātayat | tato nādaḥ samabhavat punar eva samantataḥ ||
ஒரே கணத்தில் அவன் பேருருவுடைய தைத்யன் வ்ருத்ரனை வீழ்த்தினான். அப்போது எல்லாத் திசைகளிலும் மீண்டும் பெரும் முழக்கம் எழுந்தது.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights decisive action against destructive forces and the immediate, far-reaching consequences of a pivotal deed—symbolized by the fall of a mighty adversary and the ensuing universal tumult.
Bhīṣma narrates a moment where a gigantic Daitya named Vṛtra is swiftly felled; immediately afterward, a loud roar or tumult rises again from all directions, suggesting widespread reaction among surrounding beings or forces.
