कपिलगोसंवादे गृहस्थ-त्यागधर्मयोः प्रमाण्यविचारः

किसी समय माता-पिता उनको छोड़कर उड़ गये। अब वे बच्चे कभी आकर फिर चले जाते और जाकर फिर चले आते थे, इस प्रकार वे सदा आने-जाने लगे। उस समयतक जाजलि मुनि हिले-डुले नहीं ।।
tathā te divasaṃ cāpi gatvā sāyaṃ punar nṛpa | upāvartanta tatraiva nivāsārthaṃ śakuntakāḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அரசே! அந்தச் சிறு பறவைகள் பகலெல்லாம் உணவு தேடி பறந்து சென்று, மாலை வந்ததும் அதே இடத்திற்கே தங்குவதற்காக மீண்டும் திரும்பி வந்தன. இவ்வாறு அவற்றின் வருகை-போக்கு ஒழுங்காக நடந்தது; ஜாஜலி முனிவர் அசையாது, உறுதியுடன் நிலைத்திருந்தார்.
