Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that realization of the Eternal Supreme becomes possible when the senses withdraw from external objects and become inwardly established; inner vision arises from disciplined self-mastery and recollection of the Self.

Vyāsa is instructing the listener in a yogic-ethical method: turning the senses back from their outward pursuits and stabilizing them in their proper inner seat, which culminates in direct perception of the Supreme, eternal reality.
