रष्ट्र रक्षन्‌ बुद्धिपूर्व नयेन संत्यक्तात्मा यज्ञशीलो महात्मा । सर्वाल्लोंकान्‌ व्याप्य कीर्त्या मनस्वी वाजिग्रीवो मोदते देवलोके

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

rāṣṭraṁ rakṣan buddhipūrvaṁ nayena saṁtyaktātmā yajñaśīlo mahātmā |

sarvāṁl lokān vyāpya kīrtyā manasvī vājigrīvo modate devaloke ||

வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்— அறிவோடும் நெறியோடும் நாட்டைக் காத்து வந்த, யாகமே இயல்பாகக் கொண்ட அந்த மகாத்மா உடலைத் துறந்தான். மனவலிமை கொண்ட வாஜிக்ரீவன் தன் புகழால் எல்லா உலகங்களையும் நிறைத்து, இப்போது தேவருலகில் மகிழ்கிறான்.
