तथा धर्मादपेतेन कर्मणा गह्ितेन ये । महतः प्राप्तुवन्त्यर्थास्तिषां तत्राभवत् स्पृहा
tathā dharmādapetena karmaṇā garhitena ye | mahataḥ prāptuvanty arthās tiṣāṃ tatrābhavat spṛhā ||
அதேபோல், தர்மத்திலிருந்து விலகிய நிந்தைக்குரிய செயல்களால் பெரும் செல்வம் பெற்றவர்கள், அதே வழியிலேயே மேலும் சேர்க்க வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசை அதிகரிக்கிறது.
शक्र उवाच
Wealth gained through adharma tends to intensify greed: success by blameworthy means reinforces the same pattern, making desire (spṛhā) grow rather than bringing contentment.
Śakra (Indra) is explaining a moral principle: when people secure great riches through condemned, dharma-opposed actions, they become even more eager to repeat that very mode of acquisition.
