Bali–Vāsava Dialogue on Kāla and Steadfastness
आश्रमेषु च सर्वेषु दम एव विशिष्यते । यच्च तेषु फल धर्मे भूयो दान्ते तदुच्यते,चारों आश्रमोंमें दमको ही श्रेष्ठ बताया गया है। उन सब आश्रमोंमें धर्मका पालन करनेसे जो फल मिलता है, दमनशील पुरुषको वह फल और अधिक मात्रामें उपलब्ध होता है
āśrameṣu ca sarveṣu dama eva viśiṣyate | yac ca teṣu phalaṃ dharme bhūyo dānte tad ucyate ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—நான்கு ஆசிரமங்களிலும் தமமே சிறந்தது என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. அந்த ஆசிரமங்களில் தர்மத்தைப் பின்பற்றுவதால் கிடைக்கும் பலன், தன்னை அடக்கிக் கொண்டவனுக்கு இன்னும் அதிகமாகச் சேரும் என்று சொல்லப்படுகிறது.
