इनके सिवा और भी बहुत-से रणदुर्मद दानव थे, जो देवताओंकी उत्तम समृद्धिको सहन नहीं कर पाते थे ।। दानवैरर्धमानास्तु देवा देवर्षयस्तथा । न शर्म लेभिरे राजन् विशमानास्ततस्तत:,राजन! उन दानवोंसे पीड़ित हो देवता और देवर्षि कहीं चैन नहीं पाते थे। वे इधर-उधर लुकते-छिपते फिरते थे
dānavair ardhamānāstu devā devarṣayastathā | na śarma lebhire rājan viśamānāstatastataḥ ||
இவர்களைத் தவிர மேலும் பல போர் வெறியுற்ற தானவர்கள் இருந்தனர்; தேவர்களின் உயர்ந்த செழிப்பை அவர்கள் பொறுக்க இயலவில்லை. அந்தத் தானவர்களால் துன்புறுத்தப்பட்டு, அரசே, தேவர்களும் தேவ ரிஷிகளும் எங்கும் அமைதி பெறவில்லை; அவர்கள் துயருற்று இடமிடமாக மறைந்து அலைந்தனர்.
