Bharadvāja–Bhṛgu Dialogue
आत्मन्येवात्मना जात आत्मनिष्ठो5प्रजोडपि वा । आत्मन्येव भविष्यामि न मां तारयति प्रजा
ātmany evātmanā jāta ātmāniṣṭho ’prajño ’pi vā | ātmany eva bhaviṣyāmi na māṃ tārayati prajā ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— நான் ஆத்மாவிலேயே ஆத்மாவால் பிறந்தவன்; ஆத்மாவிலேயே நிலைத்தவன்—மக்கள் (சந்ததி) இல்லாவிட்டாலும். இனியும் ஆத்மாவிலேயே இருப்பேன்; இறுதியில் ஆத்மாவிலேயே லயிப்பேன்; சந்ததி என்னை சம்சாரக் கடலைக் கடத்தாது.
