Adhyāya 174: Karma as an inescapable companion (कर्मानुगमन-उपदेश)
कृतज्ञेन सदा भाव्य॑ मित्रकामेन चैव ह । मित्राच्च लभते सर्व मित्रात् पूजां लभेत च
kṛtajñena sadā bhāvyaṁ mitrakāmena caiva ha | mitrāc ca labhate sarvaṁ mitrāt pūjāṁ labheta ca ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—மனிதன் எப்போதும் நன்றியுணர்வுடன் இருந்து, உண்மையாய் நட்பை விரும்ப வேண்டும்; ஏனெனில் நண்பனிடமிருந்து எல்லாவித ஆதரவும் கிடைக்கும்; நண்பனிடமிருந்தே மரியாதையும் மதிப்பும் பெறப்படும்.
