अथोपविष्टं शयने गौतमं धर्मराट् तदा । पप्रच्छ काश्यपो वाग्मी किमागमनकारणम्,धर्मराज! जब गौतम उस बिछौनेपर बैठा तब बात-चीतमें कुशल कश्यपकुमारने पूछा --“ब्रह्मम! आप इधर किसलिये आये हैं?
athopaviṣṭaṃ śayane gautamaṃ dharmarāṭ tadā | papraccha kāśyapo vāgmī kimāgamanakāraṇam, dharmarāja ||
தர்மராஜா! கௌதமர் அந்தப் படுக்கையில் அமர்ந்ததும், பேச்சில் தேர்ந்த காச்யபர் கேட்டார்—“பிராமணரே! நீங்கள் இங்கு வந்ததற்குக் காரணம் என்ன?”
