हिमवन्तं समासाद्य महानासीद् वनस्पति: । वर्षपूगाभिसंवृद्ध: शाखी स्कन्धी पलाशवान्
himavantaṃ samāsādya mahān āsīd vanaspatiḥ | varṣa-pūgābhisaṃvṛddhaḥ śākhī skandhī palāśavān |
ஹிமவத் மலையை அண்மித்து ஒரு மாபெரும் மரம் நின்றது. பல ஆண்டுகளின் சேர்க்கை வளர்ச்சியால் அது வலிமைபெற்று உயர்ந்திருந்தது—திடமான தண்டு, விரிந்த கிளைகள், செழுமையான இலைகள் கொண்டு பசுமையாய் விளங்கியது.
