Tapas as the Root of Attainment (तपः—साधनमूलप्रशंसा)
तथैव मृगजातीभिरन्याभिरभिशो भसे । तथा सर्वाधिवासैश्व शोभसे मेरुवद्द्रुम
tathaiva mṛgajātībhiḥ anyābhiḥ abhiśobhase | tathā sarvādhivāsaiś ca śobhase meruvad drumam ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—ஓ சிறந்த மரமே! அதுபோல பலவகை மான்களும் பிற வனவிலங்குகளும் உன் அழகை மேலும் உயர்த்துகின்றன. மேலும் அனைவருக்கும் உறைவிடமாக இருப்பதால் நீ மேருமலை போல் ஒளிர்கிறாய்.
