Daṇḍa as the Foundation of Social Order (दण्डप्रतिष्ठा)
राजदण्डभयादेके पापा: पापं न कुर्वते । यमदण्डभयादेके परलोकभयादपि
rājadaṇḍabhayād eke pāpāḥ pāpaṃ na kurvate | yamadaṇḍabhayād eke paralokabhayād api |
அர்ஜுனன் கூறினான்—சில பாவிகள் அரசத் தண்டத்தின் அச்சத்தால் பாவம் செய்யாது நிற்கின்றனர்; சிலர் யமதண்டத்தின் அச்சத்தால், மேலும் சிலர் பரலோக அச்சத்தாலும் விலகுகின்றனர். இதுவே உலகின் இயல்பு; ஆகவே அனைத்தும் தண்டத்தின் மேல் நிலைபெற்றுள்ளது.
