एतान् मयोक्ताश्नर राजधर्मान् नृणां च गुप्ती मतिमादधत्स्व । अवाप्स्यसे पुण्यफलं सुखेन सर्वो हि लोको नृप धर्ममूल:,नरेश्वर! मेरे बताये हुए इन राजधर्मोका आचरण करो और प्रजाके पालनमें मन लगाओ। इससे तुम सुखपूर्वक पुण्यफल प्राप्त करोगे; क्योंकि सम्पूर्ण जगत्का मूल धर्म ही है
etān mayoktān nara-rāja dharmān nṛṇāṁ ca guptīṁ matim ādhatsva | avāpsyase puṇya-phalaṁ sukhena sarvo hi loko nṛpa dharma-mūlaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—ஓ மனிதர்களில் அரசனே! நான் கூறிய இவ்வரசதர்மங்களை மனத்தில் ஏற்று நடைமுறைப்படுத்து; மக்களைப் பாதுகாத்து ஆளுவதில் மனத்தைச் செலுத்து. அப்படிச் செய்தால் நீ எளிதில் புண்ணியப் பயனையும் நலனையும் அடைவாய்; ஏனெனில், ஓ அரசனே, உலகமெங்கும் தர்மமே அடிப்படை.
