पश्येदुपायान् विविधै: क्रियापथै- न चानुपायेन मतिं निवेशयेत् । श्रियं विशिष्टां विपुलं यशो धनं न दोषदर्शी पुरुष: समश्चुते
paśyed upāyān vividhaiḥ kriyāpathair na cānupāyena matiṁ niveśayet | śriyaṁ viśiṣṭāṁ vipulaṁ yaśo dhanaṁ na doṣadarśī puruṣaḥ samaśnute ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அரசன் பலவகை செயல்முறைகளால் வெற்றிக்கான வழிகளைத் தேட வேண்டும்; தவறான வழிகளில் மனத்தைச் செலுத்தக் கூடாது. குற்றமற்றவர்களிடமும் குற்றம் காணும் மனிதன் சிறந்த செல்வமும், பெரும் புகழும், வளமான பொருளும் அடையமாட்டான்.
