Vetasa-Nīti: The Reed and the Flood (वेतस-नीति)
वेतसो वेगमायातं दृष्टवा नमति नापरे | सरिद्वेगेडव्यतिक्रान्ते स्थानमासाद्य तिष्ठति
vetaso vegam āyātaṃ dṛṣṭvā namati nāpare | sarid-vege ’py atikrānte sthānam āsādya tiṣṭhati ||
சாகரன் கூறினான்—நதியின் வேகம் வருவதைக் கண்டால் வேதசம் குனிகிறது; மற்ற மரங்கள் குனியாது. ஆகவே ஆற்றின் வேகம் கடந்தபின் அது மீண்டும் தன் இடத்தை அடைந்து உறுதியாக நிற்கிறது।
