मातापितृगुरुपूजा-प्रशंसा

Praise of Venerating Mother, Father, and Teacher

भीष्म उवाच मातापित्रोर्गुरूणां च पूजा बहुमता मम । इह युक्तो नरो लोकान्‌ यशश्च महदश्लुते

bhīṣma uvāca mātāpitrorgurūṇāṃ ca pūjā bahumatā mama | iha yukto naro lokān yaśaś ca mahad aśnute ||

பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அரசே! எனக்குத் தாய்-தந்தையரும் குருமார்களும் வணங்கப்படுதல் மிக உயர்ந்ததாகத் தோன்றுகிறது. இவ்வுலகில் இந்தப் புண்ணியச் செயலிலே ஈடுபடும் மனிதன் பெரும் புகழ் பெறுவான்; மறுலகில் சிறந்த உலகங்களை அடைவான்.
