इस प्रकार महाबली शक्तिशाली वीर कार्तिकेयने समरांगणमें अनेक आततायी देवद्रोहियोंका संहार कर डाला ।।
bāṇo nāmātha daiteyo baleḥ putro mahābalaḥ | krauñca-parvatam āśritya deva-saṅghān abādhata ||
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்— பாணன் என்னும் ஒரு தைத்யன் இருந்தான்; அவன் மகாபலி பலியின் வல்லமையுடைய மகன். அவன் கௌஞ்ச மலைக்கு அடைக்கலம் கொண்டு தேவர்களின் படைகளை இடையறாது துன்புறுத்தினான்.
