Sarasvatī Tīrtha Itinerary — Balarāma’s Pilgrimage

sa buddhayā gaṇayatu prājño mṛtyor bhīto hasomapāḥ | somaḥ kathaṃ tu pātavya ihasthena mayā bhavet, bharataśreṣṭha |

Educational Q&A

Even when confronted by mortal fear and deprivation, a wise person turns to clear deliberation and seeks a dharmic way forward; the verse praises intelligent resolve over panic.

Vaiśampāyana describes Trita as trapped and fearful of death, unable to partake of Soma; Trita reflects on how he might still accomplish Soma-drinking while confined ‘here’ (contextually, in the well).
