अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
सुचिरेणार्जिताल्लोकान् सद्यो युद्धात् समश्षुते । “कौरवो! युद्धधर्मसे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई स्वर्गका श्रेष्ठ मार्ग नहीं है। दीर्घकालतक पुण्यकर्म करनेसे प्राप्त होनेवाले पुण्यलोकोंको वीर क्षत्रिय युद्धसे तत्काल प्राप्त कर लेता है!
sañjaya uvāca | sucireṇārjitāllokān sadyo yuddhāt samaśnute |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்— நீண்ட காலம் புண்ணியச் செயல்களால் பெறப்படும் புண்ணியலோகங்களை, வீர க்ஷத்திரியன் போரின் மூலம் உடனே அடைகிறான். க்ஷத்திரியனுக்கு போர்தர்மத்தை விடச் சொர்க்கத்திற்கான உயர்ந்த வழி இல்லை; காலம் எடுத்துப் பெறும் பலன், சமரில் கணநேரத்தில் கிடைக்கிறது.
