एवमुक्त्वा महाराज सहदेवो महाबल: । संक़्रुद्धो रणशार्दूलो वेगेनाभिजगाम तम्,महाराज! ऐसा कहकर रणक्षेत्रमें सिंहके समान पराक्रम दिखानेवाले महाबली सहदेवने अत्यन्त कुपित हो बड़े वेगसे उसपर आक्रमण किया
evam uktvā mahārāja sahadevo mahābalaḥ | saṅkruddho raṇaśārdūlo vegenābhijagāma tam ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்— “மன்னா! இவ்வாறு சொல்லி, பெருவலிமை கொண்ட சகதேவன் போர்க்களத்தில் புலிபோல், கோபம் கொந்தளித்து மிகுந்த வேகத்துடன் அவனைத் தாக்க ஓடினான்.”
