Śalya-hatānantarāṇi: Madrarāja-padānugānāṃ praskandana and the Pandava counter-encirclement (शल्यहतानन्तराणि—मद्रराजपदानुगानां प्रस्कन्दनम्)
तच्चापि शल्यस्य निशम्य कर्म महात्मनो भागमथावशिष्टम् । कृत्वा मन: शल्यवधे महात्मा यथोक्तमिन्द्रावरजस्य चक्रे
tac cāpi śalyasya niśamya karma mahātmano bhāgam athāvaśiṣṭam | kṛtvā manaḥ śalyavadhe mahātmā yathoktam indrāvarajasya cakre |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—மகாத்மா சல்யனின் அந்தச் செயலைக் கேட்டும், இனி மீதமுள்ள பங்கு தன்னிடமே நியமிக்கப்பட்டது என உணர்ந்தும், உயர்ந்த மனத்தையுடைய யுதிஷ்டிரன் சல்யவதத்தில் மனத்தை நிலைநிறுத்தினான். இந்திரனின் இளையவன் (ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணன்) கூறியபடியே, கடமைப் பாரத்தை ஏற்று உறுதியாகச் செயல்பட்டான்।
