अमार्गेणैवमार भ्य घोरामापदमागत: । “इस प्रकार गुरुजनोंने पहले-से ही सब लोगोंको सदाके लिये यह शिक्षा दे रखी है। परंतु मैं उस शास्त्रोक्त सनातन मार्गका उल्लंघन करके बिना रास्तेके ही चलकर इस प्रकार अनुचित कर्मका आरम्भ करके भयंकर आपत्तिमें पड़ गया हूँ
amārgeṇaivamārabhya ghorām āpadam āgataḥ |
வழியற்ற பாதையில் தொடங்கி நான் கொடிய ஆபத்தில் அகப்பட்டேன். மூத்தோர் முன்பே அனைவருக்கும் சாஸ்திரம் கூறும் சனாதன வழியைப் போதித்திருந்தனர்; ஆனால் நான் அந்த நித்திய நியமத்தை மீறி, உரிய வழியின்றி அநுசிதச் செயலைத் தொடங்கினேன்; அதனால் இக்கொடுஞ்சிக்கலில் விழுந்தேன்.
