Educational Q&A

The verse reflects the dharmic protocol of kingship: offerings and tribute precede formal admission, emphasizing order, respect, and the public acknowledgment of sovereignty within a ritual setting.

During Yudhiṣṭhira’s great royal rite and assembly, visiting rulers present gifts and then are granted entry into his residence/ritual pavilion; Duryodhana is describing this procession and protocol.
