Nārada’s Examination of Royal Ethics
कच्चित् ते सफला वेदा: कच्चित् ते सफलं धनम् । कच्चित् ते सफला दारा: कच्चित् ते सफलं श्रुतम्,क्या तुम्हारे वेद सफल हैं? कया तुम्हारा धन सफल है? क्या तुम्हारी स्त्री सफल है? और क्या तुम्हारा शास्त्रज्ञान सफल है?
kaccit te saphalā vedāḥ kaccit te saphalaṃ dhanam | kaccit te saphalā dārāḥ kaccit te saphalaṃ śrutam ||
நாரதர் கூறினார்—உன் வேதங்கள் உண்மையில் பலன் தருகிறதா? உன் செல்வம் நல்வழியில் பயன் பெறுகிறதா? உன் தாம்பத்தியமும் இல்லறமும் பயனுள்ளதா? மேலும் உன் ‘ச்ருதம்’—அதாவது கேட்டும் கற்றும் வந்த சாஸ்திர அறிவு—பலன் தருகிறதா?
